Privacy policy
Quay's Junk Removal is a small local junk removal business. This page says, in plain words, what we collect when you use this site, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. We collect as little as we can to do the job.
What we collect
- What you give us when you ask for a bid: your name, phone number, email if you add it, the address of the junk, your description, any photos you send, and the time you pick.
- When you sign the agreement: your typed name, your signature, the date and time, and the internet address and type of device you signed from. We keep those so the signature can be shown to be yours.
- Payments: if you pay by card, you pay on a page run by Stripe, our payment company. Your card number goes to Stripe and never touches this site. We see only that you paid, how much, and when. If you pay by Venmo, Cash App, cash or check, we write down the amount and the method.
- Photos we take: before and after photos of the items and the work area, for our records.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent or trade your information. Ever.
- We do not use advertising trackers, analytics trackers or tracking cookies. This site sets no cookie at all for customers.
- We do not send marketing texts or add you to a mailing list.
- We do not use your photos in advertising unless you ticked the box saying we may, and then never with faces, names or addresses.
Why we collect it
To give you a bid, show up at the right place and time, do the work, take payment, and keep the business records the law expects a business to keep.
Text messages
If you ticked the box on the bid form, we text you about that job only: your bid, your appointment, and when we are on the way. The texts are typed and sent by a person from the crew, a few per job. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any of them, or tell us, and we will stop and call you instead. Agreeing to texts is not a condition of getting a bid or hiring us.
Who sees it
- The owners and crew of Quay's Junk Removal, to do your job.
- Stripe, only if you pay by card, to process the payment.
- The company that hosts this site and its database, which stores the information for us and may not use it for anything else.
- The authorities, if the law requires us to hand something over.
Your job link
After you ask for a bid you get a private link to your job. Anyone with that link can see your bid and address and can sign or cancel, so treat it like a key and do not post it publicly. The link is long and random and cannot be guessed.
How long we keep it
We keep job records, signed agreements and payment records for as long as tax and business law expect, usually several years. If you asked for a bid and never hired us, you can ask us to delete your request and photos at any time.
Your choices
You can ask to see what we hold about you, to have a mistake fixed, or to have it deleted. We will delete everything we are not required by law to keep. To ask, call or text us.
Children
This site is for adults arranging junk removal. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change how we handle information we will change this page and the date at the top.
